About Me

I'm a multimedia journalist and film critic based in Toronto and currently employed as a senior staff writer at Realscreen Magazine. My main interests are cinema, pop culture, arts, and current events more broadly. I hold a Master of Journalism degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Arts degree in film studies form Carleton University.

My work is informed by a varied background working in film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival, and writing for magazines, journals, and news organizations. I have bylines at VICE, Paste Magazine, Xtra, CBC, Motherboard, io9, Senses of Cinema, Canadian Cinematographer, Bright Lights Film Journal, and the Tyee, and I wrote a book on Joss Whedon's 2005 film Serenity, published by Columbia University Press/Wallflower Press as part of their Cultographies series in 2017.
